The Westgate Walk-in Centre is a nurse-led unit for patients with minor injuries and illnesses and is staffed by specially trained nurse practitioners, staff nurses and healthcare assistants. Although no doctors work on this unit, the team are supported by the medical staff of the RVI Emergency Department as required.
Patients do not need an appointment at the Westgate Walk-in Centre, they can simply turn up and wait to be treated. GPs can also refer patients here for treatment if appropriate.
Who: Adults and children (over 2 years of age). Please note the centre does not treat children under 6 years of age with injuries.
What: Most minor injuries and ailments can be treated at the walk-in-centre.
X-ray facilities to support the walk in centre are also available at Westgate Diagnostic Centre.
