Our team includes six GPs (plus GP Registrars), Two Practice Nurses, District Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, Health Visitors, a Midwife, a Counsellor, a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse, a Psychologist, Phlebotomists, a Physiotherapist, a Podiatrist, a Community Pharmacist as well as our Practice Manager, Secretary, Reception and administration team.
We offer a full range of general medical services including antenatal, child health and immunisation clinics. We provide a full range of contraceptive services including Implanon/Nexplanon implants.
We offer a comprehensive chronic disease management program to monitor conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease, hypertension and thyroid disease. There is an on-site Pharmacy adjacent to the surgery.
We always try to offer our patients the best service possible. We are very proud that our team scores consistently highly in the Government’s performance rating system for GP practices. In the Dept. of Health, GP Patient Survey (2009/2010), we were the top ranked practice in all of Newcastle (out of a total of 35 practices) in the following criteria:
- Overall satisfaction with care received at the surgery
- Ease of getting into the building
- Cleanliness of the surgery
- Helpfulness of receptionists
- Ease of speaking to a doctor on the phone
- Satisfaction with opening hours
At Throckley Primary Care, we aim to treat all of our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We feel that it is important you know who you are speaking to, so our practice staff identify themselves on the telephone and wear name badges.
